About the Library

The Friends of the Coopersville Area District Library provide advocacy and support to the library. Established over 40 years ago, Friends have played an important role in providing quality service to the community. The Friends group contributes to the purchase of equipment, furnishings, special books, and audio-visual materials.  Recently, the Friends helped us purchase an AWE Early Literacy Kids Computer for our kids area.

The Friends sponsor and volunteer for a number of important activities at the library, including:

  • Annual used book sale during the Coopersville Summerfest.
  • A year round used book sale in the Library.
  • Annual Berlin Fair volunteers at the fair gates.
  • Creating Newsletters and other promotional ideas such as updates to a Friends Facebook page.
  • Quarterly friends meetings.

Membership is open to anyone 18 years of age and older.  Basic membership is $5, but you are more than welcome to contribute more.  If you wish to be a Friend but can't afford the dues, you may join on a volunteer only basis.  Membership forms are in Adobe PDF format here.

If you are interested in joining the Friends of the Library or if you would like to offer them a tax deductible contribution, you may call (616) 837-6809 or email them at friends@coopersvillelibrary.org.  They would be happy to hear from you.
